The 'Gran Turismo World Series 2024' Begins on 17 April!

We are pleased to announce that the Gran Turismo 7 'Gran Turismo World Series 2024' (GTWS 2024) will begin on 17 April. The championship special page and the 2024 Series Overview page are now live.

■ 'Gran Turismo World Series 2024 Overview' Page

The GTWS 2024 is an international championship open to anyone who has a copy of Gran Turismo 7. The Series encompasses two championships, the 'Nations Cup,' in which drivers compete as a representative of their country (or territory), and the 'Manufacturers Cup,' in which drivers race under contract of their favourite manufacturer.

The Nations Cup and Manufacturers Cup will be held across six rounds of Online Qualifiers, with the highest ranked players advancing to the World Series. In a change to the format for GTWS 2024, a total of three World Series Rounds live events will lead to the end-of-season World Finals. World Series Points return this year and drivers can earn them at each live event: they will count to determine the overall 2024 World Champion, so securing a top-place finish at the World Series Rounds will be more crucial than ever.

All live events will be broadcast live, complete with full commentary and analysis of all the action in several languages. With a number of exciting up-and-coming young drivers pushing for the top spots in many regions, this season is gearing up to be one of the most exciting and competitive yet.

■ Individual Races Are Back! National Pride on the Line in the Nations Cup!

The Nations Cup starts on 17 April and begins with six rounds of Online Qualifiers from which the top 12 drivers from all Regions will be selected to compete at the World Series Rounds. For 2024, the competition will revert to an individual format, meaning the 12 drivers selected will battle at all three Gran Turismo World Series Rounds and the World Finals live events. This change will give fans a real opportunity to get to know the drivers and follow them in their quest for the championship.

For the past two years, Spain has dominated the competition with veteran Coque López's championship victory in 2022 and a talented Team Spain in 2023, but with a new campaign and format, the other nations will be looking to halt them in their bid for a third successive Nations Cup title.

■ Individual Driver Races for World Series Rd.1-3! Twelve Automotive Manufacturers Race Off!

The Manufacturers Cup will start on 8 May, approximately three weeks after the start of the Nations Cup. Similarly, there will be six rounds of Online Qualifiers with the 12 top teams from the Global Manufacturer Ranking, including official manufacturer partners Toyota, Genesis, and Mazda, going through to the World Series Rounds live events.

For the World Series Rd.1-3, each manufacturer will be represented by their highest-ranked driver from the Global Manufacturer Ranking in the Region where the live event is hosted.

For the World Finals, these three drivers will be united to compete together as a team. It will be interesting to see how this revived race format will affect the balance of power going into the second half of the season.

As Nissan showed last year when they came from behind at the very last moment to claim a first-ever Series title, the Manufacturers Cup is an unpredictable competition where anything can happen. Which manufacturer will come out on top in 2024?
